Thursday 4th December saw another installment of the ever-popular FASS Pub Quiz at Frankensteins’ basement bar on George IV Bridge. Twelve teams from the major actuarial companies in Edinburgh pitched up to pit their wits against each other in a competitive (but friendly!) atmosphere.
Quizmaster Colin Swan led the teams through the seven rounds including a TV theme round which reminded us of the good old days when we had the time to watch programmes like Big Break, Bananaman and Blockbusters.
Overall there was some good scoring, and not a mathematical question in sight! After all the answers were read out (to the usual chorus of yesss! and ooooh!), the scores showed that ‘Dead Parrots’ were the winners and ‘Gaffel Kolsch-Stifts’ the runners-up. Congratulations to them!
‘There’s something about Heriot-Watt’ (we’re still not sure what that something was) picked up the wooden spoon… or, a bottle of Bucks Fizz to be precise!
